Welcome

Integrity is one of the indispensable pillars that form the foundation and guiding principle of any business. With this, the Association of Micro Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (AMEN) was established to promote the growth of its members business and to contribute to Gross Domestic Products (G.D.P) of our country. This is done through technique of combining lower cost of production with competition through invention and innovation using our local raw materials for production of quality products that meet international standard.
Over the years the Nigerian Government has formulated a large number of national policies comprising various sectors of national development without much been achieved as a result of poor implementation and undermining the grass root players who are really into production.
Fund released for the development of the manufacturing sector are in the hand of big names and few opportunist.

Since the inception of Nigeria’s National Development Policy which is based on the new National Economic Empowerment and by SEEDS at the state level and LEEDS at the Local Government Level, it is expected that the Government should have through the Print Media, Electronic and National Orientation Agency (NOA) bring this policies to the common man in the urban and rural areas, but to no avail. This is the reason why the policies have suffered set back. The success of these policies requires the harmonious involvement of all business organizations big and small, ministries, department and agencies at the various levels of government and integrity as their watchword if, the government wants the growth and development of a vibrant and productive economy.
Testimony

I am Okenze, the Managing Director of Masepreko Herbal Bitters. I am very grateful to AMEN. Since I came in contact with the association through a friend that directed me to attend the seminar in business opportunities organized by Success Digest. I shut my production line as a result of many business challenges. Today I am back after your intervention and my business is growing faster. Please keep the wheel rolling.
- Okenze Okeychukwu, Ikotun, Lagos.

Hello, my name is William Rotimi, I read your publication in success digest. I was doubting whether all the information given about the association were true especially in our country. I deliberately sent my friend to verify. To my amazement, I was surprised when after two weeks  he submitted all the business document I needed for my registration with NAFDAC at a moderate price. My prayer and wishes is that God will surely prosper the founders and all the government agencies that are supporting the association for this great vision for our dear country.

I was doubting my friend when I found out that he had registered his products with NAFDAC. I was amazed when I came to the distributors forum organized by AMEN. I concluded in my heart that Nigeria will soon be a great country. Please how are you people doing it? I saw sincerity of purpose. If an association can go as far as getting customers for their members products. May God reward the founders.
- Emmanuel Nnamdi - Corper from Akute Lagos.

I was directed to your office by an officer from Small & Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria(SMEDAN) Matori Business support centre, Lagos. I am very grateful for your assistance and good business ideas. I am now a proud owner of my own business after retiring from civil service.
Please is the Federal Government aware of the existence based on the achievement?

History

THE ORIGIN OF THE ASSOCIATION

The Association of Micro Entrepreneurs of Nigeria (AMEN) was founded on 12th January 2007. it is a democratic independent and Non-profit voluntary association whose membership consists of Micro Manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, in different field of production mainly consumer goods with the aim of promoting their, business as well as protecting the interest of the members.
The association formally was known as “Micro Producers Association of Lagos State (MPALS) before the new name was incorporated. The change of name was done based on the good advice from government agencies and Non government organization to make it national in order to accommodate members from other state of the federation and to establish offices throughout the thirty six states of the federation including Abuja based on the track record of tremendous success recorded within the short period of existence in Lagos.
The brain behind the success and formation of this noble association is NAFDAC who summoned the officers for a meeting after receiving the letter on the challenges facing Micro Entrepreneurs to provide adequate facilities needed for products registration. “Hear her Gentlemen this is a great vision for our dear country, NAFDAC was structured to promote manufacturing sector even the young ones coming up. Go and form a cooperative/ association, contribute together and acquire a place with the facilities available we will come and inspect and register every members products individually using the same facility of the same product line. Let your action speak for you” This were the statements made by Mrs. Makanjuola former Director Enforcement unit representing Professor Dora Akunyili at the meeting. With this, the blue print was formed and the first meeting took place on August 2006 with only twelve members (12) present.

At the meeting, one member volunteered his factory to be used to register members product with NAFDAC under contract manufacturing. The success of registering his product through the help of the association after series of effort without result when he was alone was the genesis of membership growth and tremendous success for the association. The association was registered as a corporate body on the 9th of April 2010, to promote Micro business and to ensure that its members produce quality goods that is affordable to Nigerians as well as meet International Standard.
